Corporate Gifts are not the Same as Promotional Giveaways
Corporate Gifts are given to valued clients so that they can feel your appreciation for their business. You may also give these to your employees to reward their loyalty during company anniversaries or other holidays. As such, these items should not be cheap or shoddy.
In any business program, giving away gifts can be a great addition. However, one common mistake that business owners do is to confuse giveaways with it. Remember that giveaways are usually mass produced and inexpensive, whilst corporate gifts are quite unique and special. Giveaways are created by the thousands, at a cost of pennies per unit. But these gifts have a little more value.
Buying Corporate Gifts:
Since these are tokens of appreciation to your valued clients or employees, you should think of items that the recipient can put to good use. To test this, determine whether the item you have chosen can be given to a family member. If it's not appropriate, then it shouldn't be given.
There are many sites on the internet for you to browse through. Some of these suppliers offer a huge selection of items where you can select the best products to give. However, it's important that you compare different vendors because their products often vary in quality and product selection.
Important Considerations:
There are helpful suppliers who will send samples or allow you to purchase a sampler pack in order to determine the product quality. Or sometimes, a few companies will allow defective products to be returned.
If the supplier you chose cannot accommodate your simple requests, then it is best to keep on looking for others. There's no sense in purchasing bulk orders from a company that cannot guarantee the quality of their products. As much as possible, choose those who have a wide range of corporate gifts, as well as those with low minimum thresholds for bulk order.
Finally, avoid items that look cheap and were already used as general gifts during the 80's such as the common paperweights, desk sets, or sculptures. Remember that your purpose is to choose valuable tokens that will convey thoughtfulness and appreciation for the recipient.
